Mach-2 is a turning center with vertical axis, double spindles and four linear working mouvements which are orthogonal between them. The machine is equipped with two spindles and two revolving turrets, so that the piece to be machined can be changed automatically from a spindle to the other. Mach-2 turning center adopts the well-know principle, considered the optimal solution, to load the piece in a direct manner by using the grasping system of the turning center. However, the real innovation which mark Mach-2 is owing to fact that it no needs further internal mechanism (i.e. turnover station or handling arms whatsoever) for shifting the unfinished piece from a spindle to the other, for the purpose to get the finished product. This makes Mach-2 a more flexible unit, fit no only for the volume production but also for very small lot productions.
